Timothy R. Koval focuses his practice on business and real estate transactions, corporate governance, and strategic business planning.  He represents entrepreneurs, closely held companies, and established enterprises in a wide range of commercial and transactional matters, including entity formation and structuring, corporate governance and compliance, contract negotiation and interpretation, purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, asset and stock acquisitions, financing transactions, and loan documentation.  Mr. Koval also prepares and issues third-party legal opinions and routinely advises clients on the practical and legal implications of complex business arrangements.

Raised in Incline Village, Nevada, Mr. Koval earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  During law school, Mr. Koval externed for the Honorable Larry R. Hicks, United States District Judge for the District of Nevada, served as a mediator with the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center, and was an Articles Editor for the Nevada Law Journal, where his scholarly work, “Reduced Discretion in Corporate Governance as Applied to the Pharmaceutical Industry in Nevada,” was published.

Mr. Koval began his legal career in Las Vegas with one of Nevada’s preeminent business law firms, where he practiced for nearly fifteen years before continuing his practice with Ballard Rawson Jorgensen.  Drawing on his broad business background and extensive transactional experience, Mr. Koval counsels clients in all stages of business development, from formation and structuring to expansion, reorganization, and succession.  He takes a practical, results-driven approach to helping clients navigate complex negotiations, mitigate risk, and achieve their business objectives efficiently and strategically.

Mr. Koval is admitted to practice before Nevada state courts and is a member of the State Bar of Nevada.
